Harold and the Purple Crayon

I am not sure if you’ve heard of the children’s book “Harold and the Purple Crayon” (you mama’s and papa’s out there might have! it’s an oldie), but someone mentioned to me the other day that I was doing the same thing as little Harold. Basically, Harold is a curious four-year-old who creates his own world by drawing it out with his purple crayon. If he can’t see it, he draws it.

I hadn’t heard of this book before, so when I looked it up after that conversation, I was pretty blown away. I absolutely and totally resonated with the fact that, “yes, I am actually creating the path that I am on right now and everything that is appearing with it.” If it is not in front of me, I will use my crayon (i.e. visioning, manifesting, using laptops, laser fingertips, or whatever tools needed) to draw it out. It is mind-blowing how we all have the power to create our own destiny with our own collection of crayons. Personally, I might be more inclined to use an electric blue crayon, but that’s just me!

Many things are just so rocking my world right now. Since Marie Forleo’s RHH Live Conference in October, I have recently had my eyes pried open to the many beautiful things that I have to offer. To see the potential and beauty in every thing and to live as authentically as I can. When you follow your bliss and live as congruently with your beliefs, amazing things happen. The electric blue crayon is nearly at a stub…

Of course, every day is not waking up and feeling so blissed out, but most days are and that in and of itself is pretty sweet!

Keep feeding yourself the good stuff on a daily basis. So vital to living with as much life force (prana) as possible. Watch things that inspire you, dance, cook meals that make you feel good, scrub your body, call your loved ones often, find regular quiet time, keep your home organized, chew your food, be present…just to name a few.

Old limiting beliefs about who we think we are (generally populated by others opinions) and where we think we are allowed to go (populated as a result of those other opinions and then get jarred in our simple minds.) All not true. Drop that kind of thinking. Reach for the stars and be good to others along the way.

I am currently reading Gabrielle Berstein’s “Add More -ing To Your Life.” Which really breaks down old patterns of limiting beliefs. She is known as the Spirit Junkie and has truly been by my side for the last year (her itunes podcasts are AMAZING!!) She was recommended by my dear friend and acupuncturist, Miss. Lindsay Thang! If you are looking for someone in the DC area to make you feel good, you go to her.

Me and Gabrielle at RHH Live…

Anyway, I do want to finish this book tonight so I will sign off for now…

But before I disconnect, I also wanted to share some music that I am currently jiving. Found this old song that I used to listen to by Bill Withers. A reminder of how war is just so pointless.

Also, really digging this The Knife’s Deep Cuts album from way back. It’s been on the playlist rotation for the last couple of weeks. The entire album rocks, but here is a video…

I just wanted to share one last thing before I post and is that I was feeling a little blue late this afternoon, so I made myself take a Zumba class and then went to see the movie, “Silver Lining Playbook.” I felt so happy that I pulled myself out the this funk and danced around and then so excited to see people be so creative and act in a movie.

I was so inspired with lifting my day up that I knew I needed to reach out to you!

I know this one was little rambly, but whatev!

If you want to share some music that is playing on your phone or thoughts on this blog post, drop a line…

Mucho hugs,

Jess
